Warm Gold, Softer Light
Some rooms want warmth more than another black frame. The Bastia Aurelia takes the same grand arched window mirror form, a full length mirror at 200 x 100cm, and draws it in slim antique gold. The finish sits closer to candlelight than to polish, and it can lift timber floors, linen and deep wall colours the moment it goes up. Behind the gold, the panes hold the reflection in a gentle grid, so what you see feels composed rather than stark.

An Arch With Real Bones
Look closely and the grid is genuinely built, not drawn on. An inner arch follows the outer curve, full height columns carry the eye upward, and fine bars fan through the shoulders as glaziers once divided their windows. Every bar is cast iron under that gold finish, welded in place, which is why the pattern keeps its depth as afternoon light moves across it.

Hang It or Lean It
Two hooks come welded to the rear frame to take care of wall hanging. It is just as happy as a leaner, arch tipped back against a bedroom or dressing room wall, giving a full head to toe view with room to spare. In many NZ homes it ends up doing both over its life, moving from hallway wall to bedroom corner as the house changes around it. For a large leaning mirror, a discreet wall tether is a sensible addition.

The Specs
Overall size 200 x 100cm; the cast iron frame runs about 30mm deep, slim in profile yet firm in the hand. The glass is 4mm ultra clear silvered mirror, a low iron glass that tends to show far less of the green edge tint of standard mirror. At 29kg assembled it hangs with reassuring solidity, and leans just as calmly.
