A floor lamp does more than just brighten a dark corner as it acts as a piece of portable architecture that creates structure and mood without the need for renovation. Interior designers often speak about layering light to avoid the harshness of a single overhead bulb. The choice depends on how you plan to use the space. If you are looking to create a soft atmosphere for relaxing we recommend a design with a diffused shade like the Aurelia or Luma. The pleated fabric filters the glare and casts a gentle glow that is perfect for settling down. However if you need focused light for reading a book or working on a laptop a directional lamp like the Vienna or Madox is a better choice as it allows you to guide the beam exactly where your eyes need it.

We believe that light should be felt rather than just seen so the bulb choice is critical. To create a "sanctuary" feel we always suggest using a Warm White bulb (2700K - 3000K). This temperature mimics the golden hour of sunset and signals to the body that the day is over which helps the heart find peace. Avoid Cool White bulbs (4000K+) in the living room as they can feel clinical and alert which is the opposite of the secure retreat you want to create at night.

A floor lamp is actually one of the best tools for small apartments because it uses vertical space rather than floor space. A design like the Vanta or Solara draws the eye upwards and creates a zone of light without the bulk of a side table. Placing a lamp in the corner also pushes back the shadows which creates an optical illusion that makes the room feel larger and more open than it really is.

Think about the textures already in your room. If you have a lot of soft sofas and timber we recommend adding a structured contrast like the matte black Madox to give the room an edge. Conversely if your space feels a bit cold or modern choosing a lamp with a pleated shade or a marble base like the Vienna adds a necessary layer of softness and organic texture to ground the space.

Super happy with this cabinet.

It’s bigger than I expected and the shelf can be taken our easily, which makes a bit more room for taller stuff. It’s meant to be a shoe cabinet but I don’t have many shoes, so I just use it for general storage which is perfect for myself. quite a bit heavier than I thought. in a good way😂 For this price, you get a decent sized cabinet and the value is ace.
