Aurelia Pleated Fabric Floor Lamp

Aurelia takes the mid-century floor lamp silhouette, the curved brass arm that reaches out from a low cylindrical base, and pairs it with a pleated cotton shade that diffuses light through the folds.

The curved arm
A straight-pole floor lamp stands next to furniture. A curved-arm lamp leans over it. Aurelia reaches about 35cm sideways from the base, which means the shade hangs over the arm of a couch or the corner of a reading chair rather than sitting beside it. The arm is warm brass, the shade is cream pleated cotton, the base is matte black. Three materials, no over-styling. 156cm tall, 3.7kg, comfortable under a standard Kiwi 2.4m ceiling.

How pleated fabric reads
Cotton pleats soften everything that passes through them. Light comes out warm and indirect, with a faint ribbed pattern on the wall behind the lamp. Takes a standard E27 globe, and a warm-white LED reads best through the cotton pleats. Ideal for a bedroom, a reading nook, or the end of a couch where you want the corner lit but not spotlit. Less suited to task-heavy work; Lumen Duo or Slate handle that better.

Works next to
An armchair in natural linen or velvet, a low timber side table, or the end of a linen-upholstered couch. The cream shade picks up sunlight during the day and becomes a quiet warm beacon at night. In bedrooms with dark walls, Aurelia adds softness without adding visual weight.
