Aurelia Pleated Fabric Floor Lamp

Aurelia is the quiet one in our floor lamp range. A brass gooseneck arm curves out from a wood grain pole, holding a cream pleated fabric shade that softens light through every fold. Classic mid-century, nothing shouting for attention.

The curved arm
A straight pole floor lamp drops its light in a column beside itself. The gooseneck changes the angle, not the address. It leans the 34cm shade out and tilts it, so the glow falls forward onto a book or a bedside table. The cantilever is gentle, about 16cm from pole centre to shade centre, so Aurelia sits beside a chair or the end of a couch rather than leaning across it. Floor width comes to roughly 46cm all up. The arm and round 25cm base are brass, and the pole wears a wood grain finish, a water transfer print on metal that reads as timber across the room. The only black on the lamp is the cord, plug and foot switch. 156cm tall, 3.7kg, comfortable under a standard Kiwi 2.4m ceiling.

How pleated fabric reads
The pleats soften everything that passes through them. Light comes out warm and indirect, and you'll likely catch a faint ribbed pattern on the wall behind it. Takes a single E27 globe, not included, and a warm white LED suits the cream fabric best. Not one for detailed work; Lumen Duo or Slate handle that better.

Works next to
An armchair in natural linen or velvet, a low timber side table, or the end of a couch. Pull it in close, since the shade works by tilt rather than distance. Ideal for a bedroom or a reading nook where you want the corner lit but not spotlit. In rooms with dark walls it adds softness without visual weight, and the wood grain pole ties in with timber floors and bedside tables.
