Vanta Floor Lamp

At 1.7kg, Vanta lifts with one hand. For a Kiwi renter moving between flats every twelve to twenty-four months, that matters more than most lamp reviews admit. This is the lamp you carry to the next place, not the one you leave behind.

Three-leg base in a tight corner
Vanta stands 158cm on a matte black tripod with gold accents on the shade rim. The three legs slot into corners that a cylindrical base cannot, which is exactly what a small studio or single bedroom needs. The shade is a KD drum in black woven fabric, narrower at the top and wider at the base, throwing light both down and sideways.

Shape of the light
Vanta takes a standard E27 globe. A warm-white LED gives the couch corner a soft downward beam with diffused spill through the weave of the shade. Enough for the space over a bedside table or a reading chair. Not enough for a full 25 square metre lounge on its own, but that is the point of a floor lamp. It is a layer, not the main source.

Where it sits best
Beside a two-seater couch, a reading chair, or a single bed. The matte black legs disappear against a dark floor or a charcoal rug, and the gold on the shade picks up warmth from a brass side table or curtain rod.
