Light is hard to judge from a photo. How buying a floor lamp in Auckland works

You've got three routes, and they all start from the same place:

• Order online, courier to your door. Every lamp on the floor lamps collection shows live courier rates at checkout, calculated for your exact address. No flat fees, no shipping cost hidden in the price. Urban Auckland deliveries typically arrive within 1 to 2 working days of dispatch.
• Order online, pick up in Albany. Choose pickup at checkout and collect from our showroom at Unit B, 19 Arrenway Drive, Rosedale. In-stock lamps are usually ready the same day.
• Visit the showroom first. See the lamps in person, check the finish and the glow, then buy on the spot or order for delivery. No appointment needed.

One honest note before you plan a trip: our new floor lamp range is currently on pre-order, with new stock expected to arrive in mid-August 2026. You can secure one now and we'll dispatch as soon as the shipment lands. A handful of lamps from the current range are in stock right now and can be picked up today, more on those below.

The Albany showroom: see them in person

Our showroom sits just off the Northern Motorway in Rosedale, an easy run from most of the North Shore and about 20 minutes from the CBD outside of peak traffic.

• Hours: Monday to Friday 9:30am–4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am–4pm. Open 7 days.
• Parking: free on-site, right outside the door

It's a working showroom attached to our warehouse, so what's on display shifts with what's in stock. What floor lamps suit Auckland homes

Auckland housing is a mixed bag, and the right lamp depends a lot on which slice of it you live in.

Villas and bungalows

Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Devonport, Mt Eden: high studs, timber floors, and ceiling fixtures that are often original, dim, or oddly placed. A floor lamp fixes the lighting without touching the wiring. Taller lamps with generous shades suit the 3m-plus studs, and warm-toned linen shades sit naturally against white-painted timber. The Marceau's oatmeal linen drum was practically made for this.

Rentals and apartments

No landlord permission needed. A floor lamp is entirely plug-in, no drilling, no rewiring, and it moves out when you do. In smaller CBD and city-fringe apartments, slim-profile lamps with a small base footprint (like the Solara or Chandelle) give you proper evening light without eating floor space. New builds

Hobsonville, Long Bay, Flat Bush: new builds come with downlights everywhere, which is great for cleaning and terrible for atmosphere. A floor lamp adds the warm, low-level layer that makes a lounge feel like a lounge after 8pm. Our new floor lamp range went live in late July, French-inspired names, warm finishes, and a big step up in shade detail. Everything below is available for pre-order now, with new stock expected mid-August 2026.

Three lamps from the current range are in stock right now, priced to clear and ready for same-day pickup in Albany or overnight courier across urban Auckland:

• Slate Tray ($48) — floor lamp and side table in one, with a built-in tray at mid-height. Our most practical lamp for small lounges.
• Lumen Duo ($48) — two independently switched lights on one pole, ambient up top and a directional light below.
• Nero Tray ($98) — a black arc with a tray, reaching over the arm of a sofa or chair.

Stock levels on these move quickly at clearance prices, so if the listing shows availability, that's live and accurate.

Delivery across Auckland and beyond

Floor lamps ship by courier, they're light enough that they don't need freight. (Our larger furniture and oversized mirrors travel with Mainfreight; lamps don't.) What that means in practice:

• Live rates at checkout. You see the actual courier cost for your address before you pay. We don't do flat fees, and we don't pad prices with hidden shipping.
• Urban Auckland: typically 1 to 2 working days from dispatch.
• Rural Auckland and the rest of NZ: a day or two longer, the checkout shows the rate for your address either way. We deliver nationwide, from Kaitaia to Bluff, and we've written city guides for Christchurch too.
• Pre-orders: dispatched as soon as the mid-August shipment arrives, in order of purchase.
